A container containing cartons of stationary products arrives at
the Pallet Hotel at Big Web Warehouse commercial storage centre from
China. The cartons are not palletised and need to be unloaded and placed in stock keeping units (SKUs) on pallets.
The inventory is checked against the manifest and the client informed of any damages or omissions.
The stock information is entered into
the Big Web Warehouse See-It database and cross referenced to the client’s own data.
The pallets are stored
in vacant slots or fast pick zones depending on the anticipated
shelf life.
Orders are received
from the customer's sales department and delivery for direct to the client’s customers.
Mixed SKU consignments are collated,
packed and prepared for dispatch.
All consignment documentation is received electronically and processed.
Collection of consignments for delivery is made and signed off.
The stock database is updated and a client report is issued.
Damaged and returned goods are delivered to Big Web Warehouse via carrier and
quarantined for inspection by the customer.
